Hospital Architecture StudyHospital design lay-out as displayed in EVL’s CAVE2 - L. Long, EVL
Researchers: Jason Leigh
The CAVE2™ System is a hybrid environment that enables users to mash-up a number of 2D and 3D images at the same time using SAGE™ software (Scalable Adaptive Graphics Environment) developed by EVL. Users can display related digital media side by side for information analysis and insight. In this application, EVL’s SAGE software is used to display 3D models of a prospective hospital design in the CAVE2. The pre-visualization is especially useful during the design phase of building a new hospital, as clients can virtually walk the hospital corridor and view what the hospital floor layout looks like in a 3D mock-up of the nurses’ station and patient rooms.
