Web Art

In the early ’90s, EVL collaborated with the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA), University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign on the interface design and functionality of Mosaic, the earliest web-browser and predecessor to Netscape.

Since then, projects like The File Room, an illustrated archive of cultural censorship cases, have been created, exhibited and widely distributed via the Internet. Other projects, such as Cryptoclub and Synthecology, focus on the web as a community for artistic collaboration or to facilitate early childhood education in the sciences.
